Today we had the geography challenge in the morning. I finished second in the class, scoring 70 out of 100. It was really fun, and I got to know a lot of facts about canadian and world geography.
Then we finished the 2010 movie in AS. Overall, this movie was more fast-paced than the 2001. (I read in the IMDB that Kubrick had to cut about 30 minutes from 2001 just to make sure his audience wasn't falling asleep.) But it lacks the strong hidden allegories presented in 2001. It did a good job of carrying the story from 2001 and continuing with it, but that's about it. I've researched a bunch of interpretations on the 2001 movie, some of which were synonymous with the opinion we were exposed to during class, other critics even said the movie was entire nonsense! I also read that Tom Hanks had expressed an interest in making a 2061 or 3001 movie as well, but that never came through.
In the afternoon, we had the simplex algorithm test in math, and then gymnastic in PE, which was really fun. We did parallel bars and rings and many other gymnastic equipment.
